They were very professional and made me feel super comfortable about my dogs tight-rope surgery. Dr. Metzler has been amazing and has helped with understanding exactly how to care for my dog so he may have the best recovery possible. Cooper is recovering very well and we are all excited for him to be able to live a normal dog life at full capacity again.
About a year ago, after visiting more than four vets for Jerry’s gingivitis, I finally found Dr. Mindi Metzler — and she was by far the best experience I had. Some of our previous visits left me feeling panicked and guilty due to overdiagnoses and pressure. Jerry’s gingivitis was serious, but Dr. Mindi approached it with calm expertise and a genuinely consultative mindset. She explained everything clearly, never rushed me, and recommended a treatment plan that was both thoughtful and reasonably priced. Her entire staff is organized, attentive, and kind — you can tell they truly care about the animals they treat. Jerry’s dental surgery went smoothly, and a year later she’s still healthy and thriving. I’m so grateful we found Dr. Mindi and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.
Dr. Frank and Dr. Mindy are the best! They are always so attentive and caring with our dog. We know they are giving our dog the very best treatment. The front staff is also friendly and super responsive. We would never go anywhere else!
I want to thank Dr Mindy for giving my grump to elderly dog a great experience. He is anxious fearful at the vet and they were able to accommodate and work around his fear. They were extremely patient and I am quiet impress, I think it’s safe to say she is a dog whisperer! She is our new favorite vet.
If you love your furry family members as much as we do...then 2222 Veterinary Clinic is the place for them..AND for You. Knowing they're in capable and caring hands when things like surgery come up for your dog at the age of 16... it's worrisome. Dr. Metzler and the team bring the confidence you truly need at a time like that. Thanks guys!
Thank you for being such a kind team. I’m new to both Austin and the US, having just recently relocated with my pup from the UK. I visited with zero understanding of what to expect, and everyone was really patient with me and also provided helpful advice for living in the area which made me feel very welcome here. Front desk customer service is excellent, prices are very reasonable and just generally such a warm and friendly team who are a pleasure to interact with. I know Jasper is in great hands with you - and I have one happy, comfortable pup even though he was neutered by your team just 3 days ago!
Since this review will stand out starkly from the many 5-star reviews I know it might be easily dismissed as a disgruntled online troll, but in memory and honor of my late dog, Rudy, I feel called to share our negative experience with 2222 Veterinary Clinic. Our family deserved better. I did not want to waste another moment of time left with my dog on this clinic so I waited months to write this review. Rudy died on May 3rd. He was our beloved "furst born", one in a million, and start of our family who lovingly looked after our three sons as our family grew. We moved Rudy's care over to 2222 Veterinary Clinic several years ago and were overall content with the regular check-ups and care he received. It wasn't until we brought Rudy in for a teeth cleaning that we started to have issue. We dropped Rudy off for his cleaning and when the Doctor called to say he was ready for pick-up, he said everything went well but that Rudy "reacted strongly to the anesthesia as he was waking up". Not once did he mention that Rudy took a fall when he woke up and had cuts and bruises all over his face and body as a result. When the vet tech walked him out to me, she said "I am so sorry we could not do more for you" and sent us home with pain meds for his injuries. I was completely caught off guard. I did not know what she was talking about, but when I saw Rudy, he looked like he had been in a fight or accident. Why did the doctor NOT mention this to me? A simple teeth cleaning turned into over a week of healing for him. The lack of transparency about whatever happened behind the scenes during Rudy's teeth cleaning left a bad taste in our mouth so we planned to move his care to a new clinic, but before we had a chance to move his records, Rudy developed severe front leg lameness out of nowhere. This was in October 2025. We felt like it was emergent enough that we decided to stick with established vet that had his history, so we returned to 2222 Vet Clinic to have him evaluated. My instincts, and knowing my dog and his pain threshold, were that the limp was something serious. He had also been having tremors and would lose his balance on that same leg for 1-2 years prior, which we had mentioned at every check-up but was usually dismissed as insignificant. The doctor took Rudy to the back to run some tests and give him a shot for pain, again without a lot of transparency. I was slapped down a $500 bill upon check out and the takeaway message I was given was "Vizslas are sensitive" and "its probably just arthritis." None of their in-office treatments or prescriptions sent home even touched Rudy's leg lameness, so my instincts continued to flare that we were dealing with something more serious. I called twice requesting follow-up from the doctor for next steps or other options, and twice the techs dismissed it as "just arthritis" and basically a shrug and, "we are sorry your dog is getting old." Not once did the doctor follow up with me to see if Rudy was improving even after my calls and pleas. Apparently care at 2222 Vet ends with the bill. Long story short, after the blatant disregard and dismissal, we finally move care to a wonderful vet in Liberty Hill (an hour drive for us), but she held our hand through the next 6-months of complete, utter heartbreak. She referred us to a specialist who compassionately and graciously told us Rudy had a nerve sheath cancer that had spread to his spine. He was in quite a lot of pain and was the bravest boy. She was able to help us get him on a hospice pain management plan and we kept him comfortable for a little more time before we had to say our goodbyes. We had the privilege of having Rudy in our life, and I am proud of myself for trusting my instincts. I am mad it took over a month of agony for Rudy for me to get a vet who cared enough to listen. Vizslas ARE sensitive, but only in the best ways. 2222 Vet Clinic could learn something from them.
