Monday night, I brought my 5 year old cat, Martok, to this clinic to evaluate a possible physical injury after an accident in my home the prior day. While he did not have any physical issues, we did discover three serious heath conditions he had that had no great prognosis for recovery. After a few hours, heavy discussion with my wife, the doctors, and staff, we made the tough decision to let him go. It was so hard. I love cats above most things in this world. ALL the staff were so compassionate, sympathetic, and honest. They did not tell me what I wanna hear and they also were so supportive during this. When the moment came to let him go, the doctor did a such a wonderful job. Our little guy slipped gently into sedation and then was administered the last med, then he as gone. It was peaceful. It was hard but it was peaceful. Thank you to all the staff for taking a difficult time for our family and bringing so much professionalism and comfort.
My dog 🐕 got into chomping sticks on our walk. (leave it and drop it had exited the room 🙄) He woke me up at 4am vomiting them up. I panicked and called the ER for advice and rushed him in. My biggest fear was there were more sticks that could cause damage to his insides. They gave estimates and answered all my questions. The staff was great to my boy he was so happy when k picked him up. The Vet did get a bit sassy with me when we were going over care "I’m getting there" I understand this was very early so possible it was before their coffee kicked in. We had an overall good experience and hope to never be back for my pup's sake.
The best experience. Princess Nala got the best care good enough even for a queen👑! She is doing much better with home care and hoping to make year 24. If not, she will be comfortable with private nurse care at home like the diva she is with the support of Dr. Cat and team! Even though we didn't get the best news, we got what we needed to improve Nala's quality of life and hope that we also get a little bit more time! We have been lucky to have her 23 years and she deserves to be comfy and happy! Thanks to all of the staff for their support! Nala is grateful as well!
I would like to thank the team at Pet Emergency immensely for their care of my childhood dog, Harry. We brought in our pup after a change of eating habits and a night of pain and the team here was incredibly diligent in figuring out what our dog was going through. We were able to be seen quickly by the nurses and doctor. Dr. Grace Andersen was extremely caring and gentle with walking us through our options on Harry’s best course of treatment. We unfortunately had to make the extremely difficult decision to put our loving pet to sleep that day. The team was extremely kind, understanding, and gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye to our beloved pup. Something we were most concerned about was the price of the visit, and the team was very transparent in bringing us quotes and explaining to us in great detail what each item on the invoice was. I’m glad that we came to this amazing place. Although it broke our hearts to put our lifelong companion to sleep, the team was extremely gentle with us and loving to our pet. There was a lovely grief room with comfy couches and sweet treats we were able to give our loving pet before he passed. Thank you Pet Emergency team for your care and support through this extremely difficult day.
As soon as we walked in the front desk was amazing! We had just come from our primary vet in Wasilla and they had scared us told us that we should euthanize our year and half old GSP, when we got in the back and talked with Tonya Cassee she was very nice, calm and sweet she went over what was done at his vet in Wasilla in more lame n terms so we could understand better and then she consulted with their Internal Medicine Specialist and made a plan with us to help our little guy Zeus so he could live his life out with us. Zeus was left their over night to get transfusions and plasmas, they called us the next morning and told us he responded great and we could come get him, and that he will be set up to see the Internal Medicine Specialist. I am super pleased with their staff and doctors would definitely recommend!!
This was by far one of, if not the best veterinary care experiences I've had. It felt as if my dog was receiving human level care, which made the cost of seeing a specialist justifiable. They made him feel comfortable throughout his stay- so much so that I can almost assume it was just a pleasant day for him with some strange forms of attention he isn't used to. I felt well informed by the team, heard on all concerns, and left feeling like I had done the best I could for my dog. I feel fortunate that we have this resource available in Alaska!
I wouldn't recommend them. My dog hadn't eaten or pooped in days, couldn't breathe properly, and was constantly throwing up, even three times in the waiting room while we waited six hours for any treatment. We were there for a total of seven hours. Turns out she ate a toy and they charged us nine times to look at X-rays ($1578) on the bill, for a total of $3,082.68. She did recover, and the meds and treatment made her feel a lot better. I'm glad it worked out, but I think their pricing is way too much. The vets and staff were great, but their handling of urgent cases and the cost will make me take my business elsewhere.
