We’ve loved the care here. Our cat, otherwise a loving creature, does NOT do well at the vet. They’re tolerant with her bad attitude. Our dog is treated like a queen here. She’s been seen for a variety of things and is getting great care by Dr. Olinger for her arthritis. The front office staff have always been kind and friendly.

I was incredibly stressed trying to find a place to board our cat after a recent surgery when our regular facility wouldn’t take her. The entire staff, literally everyone we encountered, was genuinely compassionate, helpful, knowledgeable, and clearly cared for the animals in their care. They were exactly what I needed in a moment of high stress and emotions, and I can’t thank them enough for coming to our rescue in the best way possible. The cost was higher than our regular place, but they gave her medications with no issues, navigated feedings with a cone on, and sent daily updates. Absolutely would return here for boarding.

I adopted a kitten from IVHS about 5 days ago. VCA was able to get me in for a same-day appointment when I saw that she had mucus and stopped eating last night. They were very kind and helpful. All of the staff were friendly and seemed to really care. I was there for less than an hour. My kitten had an upper respiratory infection, received fluids and an antibiotic injection. She started feeling better a couple hours later. She’s now eating and acting like herself again, other than needing a bit more nap time as she recovers.

Our little Bella rolled her ankle at 10 o’clock at night! She was yelping so bad and holding her paw up. We knew we had to take her in right away. I was worried that it was broken. I read reviews on other emergency vets and was terrified. We took Bella here based off of reviews and location. We soon realized that this is where we took our Chico over a year ago to be put down. They offered a good price for that procedure, a paw print keepsake and personalized box for the ashes. They were amazing then and tonight was no different. Dr. Forsberg was fantastic. She’s knowledgeable, caring and explains everything very clearly. Turns out it’s just a sprain. Monica explained the bill clearly, it was reasonable and she was very personable. We didn’t feel pressured to add on anything extra. We are leaving with peace of mind and a plan. Thank you for being there for us through the last day for our Chico and for giving us great news for our baby Bella. We really appreciate you all. Thanks again.

Our Lab came in with facial swelling after camping. We thought it was a bee sting but the swelling persisted for 3 weeks. We went into the office 4-5 times. Prednisone would help swelling but when meds stopped swelling came back. Doctors were stumped and had no answers until a smart one referred us to Advanced Vet Specialists in Tustin. Our dog had a CT scan the next day which revealed an abcess. He had surgery the day after and stayed overnight. His face sliced open with several stitches and a drain! Culture revealed STAPH. Our dog could’ve died!! One of out last visits at Yorba, vet said oh leave it wait and watch. Next day swelling traveled up to our dog’s eye. That eve, we were finally referred to AVS Tustin (they are wonderful and saved our dog’s life). $7500 later, We are still dealing with constant meds and have to empty his drain daily.. horrible experience!! My dog will never go to Yorba again! UPDATE: 3 weeks later after surgery and a complaint with the Veternary Medical Board, Yorba Regional is calling asking how our dog is doing..Seriously?! No thank you.

I brought my 15-year-old diabetic dog, Bello, to this VCA ER around 9 PM because he was weak, trembling, extremely thirsty, and not eating. I was the only client there, yet we were immediately separated and he was kept in a kennel for hours. I repeatedly asked the front desk to please make sure he at least had water, and was told nothing could be done without doctor authorization. For over 3 hours, I was told he was "fine" and "just sleeping," with no updates, no urgency, and no compassion. At one point I even had to call the front desk from my cell phone just to get someone to come out. The staff’s demeanor throughout was cold, dismissive, and emotionally detached, as if my dog’s suffering — and my distress — did not matter. There was no empathy, no reassurance, and no effort to make this unbearable situation easier. It felt like they simply did not care. The only thing done during this time was lab work, which I was charged $458 for. We were not allowed to be with him in an exam room, even though no treatment or comfort care was being provided. When I declined a $9,000 hospitalization estimate, the tone abruptly changed and I was suddenly told that he was actually very bad and could no longer walk. When he was finally returned to me, he was shaking uncontrollably, panting heavily, and unable to stand — far worse than when we arrived. We arrived at 9 PM and did not leave until close to 1 AM, feeling powerless and traumatized. We took Bello home, where he finally relaxed in his own bed, but his condition rapidly declined and he passed away 3 hrs lster. I paid nearly $800 for this visit, which did not provide relief or care, but instead added pain by contributing to Bello’s suffering and taking away precious time I could have spent comforting him in his final hours. I'm giving two stars (otherwise I'd give one star) because my experience wasn't ALL horrible, and I'd like to give credit where it is due. I came here for the reproductive specialty with Dr. Cortez. First, it wasn't made clear to me from the outset that the reproductive techs are only around half the week. Had I known that this would mean my female couldn't get the desired reproductive services when her timing was right, I would've gone to a different clinic (they can only perform transcervical insemination half the week when the repro tech is available; the rest of the time insemination will have to be surgical). This is truly difficult to work around since female dogs are ready for insemination on their own schedule--obviously. Second, Dr. Cortez was initially responsive to my inquiries via e-mail, but he responded once or twice, then was nowhere to be found again. My female had all her pre-breeding exams, progesterone tests (multiple), inseminations, and her c-section done at this clinic--therefore developing a fairly large bill with this vet. You'd think bedside manners would be a little better. The front desk employees are completely clueless (they have little to no dog knowledge whatsoever, completely miscalculating dog gestation periods and even common dog breeds--you'd think at a repro specialist, employees would have more basic knowledge). Dr. Cortez also only works half the week, and he wasn't around for the tail-docking procedure of my show-quality Rottweilers, so a different staff vet performed the BOTCHED dock job. We confirmed prior to the docking that we'd keep one vertebrae. It was WAY MORE than one vertebrae that was left. Any veterinarian (or even lay person) with half a brain could tell you that. I had to have a revision dock performed at a different vet--which is absolutely horrible to have to do. Multiple experts confirmed the vet left behind 3-4 vertebrae. Also, I was never given a follow-up call despite their knowledge that they botched the dock. Overall, I would avoid. They charge a whole lot for limited availability and their staff veterinarians are pretty clueless, sadly. Your dogs & puppies will pay the price for their ignorance and/or unavailability. Additionally, don't expect any after care for pretty big procedures except for one or two one-line e-mails from Dr. Cortez. Very disappointed and will never be able to use their services or recommend them.
