VEG ER for Pets

I had one of the scariest nights of my life when I came home and found my dog, Rocky, with a large open gash on his chest. I was panicked and didn’t know what to do, but from the moment I walked into VEG ER for Pets, the staff took over with such calmness, compassion, and professionalism. Dr. Michala Frederic was absolutely amazing. She was kind, reassuring, and took the time to explain everything clearly while moving quickly to care for Rocky. The entire team made such a terrifying situation feel manageable, and I truly felt like my dog was in the best hands. You can tell they genuinely care—not just about the animals, but about the families who love them. Thanks to Dr. Frederic and her team, Rocky is doing so much better, and I am beyond grateful. They truly saved my sweet baby boy. I will never forget how they treated us that night. Highly recommend VEG ER for Pets to anyone who wants their pets in loving, capable hands.

I can’t say enough good things about VEG in Elk Grove, CA . They were incredibly kind to both me and my dog, Maya, during a very stressful and emotional visit. The staff took the time to explain everything in depth, every test, every option, every next step — and never made me feel rushed or dismissed. I felt heard, supported, and fully informed the entire time. What truly stood out, though, was their compassion. While we were there, another dog sadly passed away nearby. It was heartbreaking to witness, and one of the team members came over afterward just to check on me and make sure I was okay. That level of empathy meant more than I can express. They treat not only the animals, but the humans, with such care and dignity. I’m beyond grateful for the way they showed up for us.

I had to bring my dog in for an ear injury, and I’m so grateful for the care we received at Veterinary Emergency Group. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and reassuring during a very stressful situation. They took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure my dog was comfortable the entire time. You can tell they genuinely care about the animals they treat, not just doing their job but going above and beyond to make both the pet and owner feel at ease. The facility was clean, the service was quick, and the communication was excellent throughout the visit. My dog is already healing well thanks to their treatment. I highly recommend VEG to anyone dealing with an emergency they truly made a scary experience so much better.

Hands down the best veterinary care I’ve seen. There’s no waiting room. Your pet is immediately brought to a comfortable room for intake and are treated with the utmost compassion. My dog was not a severe case (he got into a small amount of chocolate that passed without incident) and there were pets there that were being attended critically. Yet the staff took my concerns seriously and took the time to really make sure he was safe from harm. They were compassionate and cared for him like he was theirs. Huge gratitude for you all, keep up the great work!!!

I truly cannot thank Veg ER in Elk Grove enough. On Sunday night, we rushed in with our 11-month-old Yorkie, Dallas (only 4 lbs), after he choked and swallowed a collagen dog chew that became lodged in his esophagus, causing a partial obstruction. He was miserable, lethargic, and we were absolutely terrified. Despite how incredibly busy and chaotic the ER was that night, the entire team was attentive, compassionate, and knowledgeable. What stood out most was how well they worked together — doctors and nurses who weren’t even assigned to Dallas still checked in on us, made sure we were comfortable, and kept us informed while we waited. That level of teamwork and care does not go unnoticed. Dallas ultimately required an endoscopy, and thanks to their expertise, he is now on the road to a full recovery. You can truly tell this team loves what they do and genuinely cares about every animal that walks through their doors. I was an emotional mess that night and don’t remember everyone’s names, but I do remember Sam, Britt, and Hunter — BUT every single person working that Sunday night was amazing!!! Forever grateful for this team. Thank you for saving our boy

This was the first time I truly felt that my dog's well-being was the top priority, rather than the payment. From the moment we arrived, I felt at ease, and my dog was comfortable and well cared for. Everyone was so kind, compassionate, and attentive, and it was clear that they genuinely cared about her. I was referred by my friend, and the experience exceeded all of my expectations. The level of care, professionalism, and kindness we received was exceptional. I only wish this clinic could be my dog's regular veterinarian instead of an emergency hospital. Thank you to the entire team for making a stressful situation so much easier and for treating my dog with such love and care.

Unfortunately I am a frequent flyer at Veg, I have a few dogs and when they are in pain or sick I don't wait until I can see my regular Vet. I immediately take them to the ER. In the past, dealing with ER Vets we have been turned away simply because they have no space for us. This is why I cannot speak highly enough of Veg, I've never been turned away and I get to stay with my pet. We have experienced all phases at Veg, from dealing with my 2 year old Husky/Shepherd mix who gets into everything, and although she isn't a willing participant they were able to soft muzzle her which made things better for everyone. I also took my Border mix in for what I thought was a stroke, it ended up being a bad tooth. Although, the Vet was transparent in saying they normally don't deal with tooth issues, he felt he could remove the entire tooth without a problem. I was there comforting my dog and all went well. I also took my dog there when he passed suddenly in my kitchen (he was 16), they were caring and took us immediately to a back room to deal with after life care. Lastly, in December I rescued a dog in the middle of Franklin that had been hit by a car. She was bleeding from her mouth, of course we went right to Veg. They examined her, luckily her internal organs were okay and she had a broken tooth and some minor mouth cuts. I stayed with her and discussed options for her future, the way she was matted it was obvious she was a stray. I was not in a position to take on another dog, with their love and care they took little miss, made her comfy and said they'd transport her to the shelter. She is an adorable pom, I think of her daily. I hope she's living her best life now! Thank yo Veg, you're my ONLY choice in Vet ER Care!!
