7.3

Kathleen Animal Hospital in Lakeland offers a mixed experience for pet owners. While some clients praise the compassionate care and knowledgeable staff, others have raised concerns about service consistency. The facility is noted for its cleanliness and affordability, with a team that generally works well together. However, there have been reports of delays in appointments and communication issues, particularly regarding follow-ups and euthanasia procedures.

The hospital has a history of dedicated service, but recent changes in staff have led to varying opinions. Some clients have found the front desk staff to be polite and helpful, while others have experienced long wait times and a lack of responsiveness. Despite these inconsistencies, the hospital remains a viable option for pet care, with a strong emphasis on affordability and a well-maintained environment.

Do not ever board your animals here. I went on a cruise and boarded my 3 dogs with them. They have been the dogs vet for several years. I did this due to 2 of them are older and on medications. We arrived today 02/19/26 to pick them up. My oldest Papillion/chihuahua mix was covered in dry poop on her backside and in the back pads of her feet. They did not clean her. She did not need a full bath, just wash her backside. When we arrived home my wife held them back while she filled their bowl with fresh water. You would think they never got water as much as all three drank. They were so happy to be home. Cost over $400 for that kind of service. I wonder if the gave them their meds in a pill pocket or jammed down their throat. DO NOT BOARD your animal here. Mine were not treated properly. They have been boarded at Robinhood kennels in Tallahassee and Hollywoof kennels here in Lakeland. Every time ( there were quite a few) they were happy and not starving fo r water. I will be searching for a new vet after this. Over priced for what they got.

I had to say goodbye to my sweet Cookie Bug yesterday, they were so great, I've never had to lose a fur baby like this. They did everything they could to help me get through it. Wonderful place to take care of your furry family members. Thank you so much for your kindness.

Not sure what has happened to this place. It used to be a fantastic animal hospital. They really cared. Then newer staff came in and several just don't care. And the older vet, Bankau (or whatever his name is), when it comes to euthanasia, he has the compassion of a piece of lumber. Not recommended.

I feel the front staff is very polite although 11 o’clock appointment was made it’s 1135 still waiting to be seen. They moved us at 11:22 from the waiting room to the exam room because I asked how much longer and here we sit.

I liked this hospital several years ago. However, I brought my cat there about two weeks ago because she appeared to be sick. Bloodwork and X-rays were done. I was told the cat had asthma and a yeast infection in his ear. I was given prednisone and ear drops which were suppose to be given for two weeks. The cat seemed to be getting worse, so I called the hospital and was told the doctor would be notified. I never received a response, so I dropped in and was told again the doctor would be notified. I still have not received a call. In the meantime, I made an appointment with another vet. Bloodwork and X-rays were done again. Sadly, the bloodwork and X-rays showed cancer, which had progressed rapidly. Our sweet baby was suffering, so we had to have her euthanized. I recommend getting a second opinion if you have a problem with your pet.

I wanted to switch vets due a corporation buying out my very trusted vet. I felt a little nervous because we had an accident happen which resulted in popping in first thing in the morning to see if they were able to work in a new customer and they are extremely kind! The doctor is very knowledgeable and kind. The front desk was helpful and made me feel comfortable. The tech was also very knowledgeable and fun. I have only heard amazing things regarding the doctor and staff from friends and family so I finally made the switch over and I will hopefully be able to bring all of my pets here! Kathleen Animal hospital is also very affordable compared to some of the clinics we have visited in the past. The building is extremely clean and well kept. It seems the staff works well together and that they truly want to help animals!
